Book Review: The 5th Horseman by James Patterson

The 5th Horseman by James Patterson

Mystery/detective/thriller; 409 pages

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summary: Yuki Castellano is the newest member of the women’s murder club. One day, while out to lunch, her mother has a mini stroke and is taken to the hospital… the same hospital that is being sued for 20 wrongful deaths of patients. All 20 patients had been given lethal doses of their prescribed medications. At the same time, Lieutenant Boxer is working on the murder of a young girl found posed in a car. The only problem is they have nothing to go on to solve this case.

Review: I really like the addition of Yuki to the cast of characters in this series. She’s a smart, quirky character who adds a little something different to the mix. I liked that there were two storylines in this book as well. It made it a more interesting read, in my opinion. I do wish all four of the ladies would have been in the book more. I understand that Lindsey is supposed to be the main character but all of them together is what makes it interesting. I love reading about them solving crimes while drinking margaritas! And don’t worry, if you’ve never read any of the other books this won’t spoil anything. These books are pretty separate from each other.

Recommendation: I would go read the first book if you think this one sounds interesting. There’s 13, soon to be 14, books in total and they’re good, easy reads. I really enjoy them.
