Game of Thrones Season 5 Finale

Now is your chance to turn around and leave

But seriously … Last chance.

I can’t believe Jon Snow was actually killed off. I know he gets stabbed in the books but it didn’t seem like he would actually die!

That being said, my best friend and I, along with a good portion of the ASOIAF fandom have come up with a pretty solid theory for what will happen next.

Shireen was sacrificed for the sake of her fathers army. WHAT IF the Lord of Light didn’t think that was a just sacrifice because only death can pay for life and only life can pay for death. WHAT IF her sacrifice will be used to being back Jon Snow.

He is too important of a character to have him dead. He is ice. He is the north.

THEORY: As a lot of book readers will be aware, the running theory for Jon Snow’s lineage is he is the bastard of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. Meaning that Jon and Daenerys are siblings. She is fire, he is ice. It only makes sense that they are meant to lead the army of the living against the army of the dead.

THEORY 2: They left out the reintroduction of a formerly important main character this season. Catelyn Stark. Brought back from the dead by the Red Priest she was reintroduced at the end of book 5. What if they didn’t bring her back YET because they didn’t want the fan base thinking the same could happen to Jon. Melisandre is back at Castle Black after he failed attempt to sacrifice Shireen for Stannis’s army. She knows the sacrifice is meant for something or someone else. What if that is how she brings him back. And then we see the reintroduction of Catelyn.

If you made it to the end of this post I would love to hear your thought!!

  1. I am also pissed that he seems to be dead BUT Melisandre is near and neither Jon, nor Myrcella, nor Stannis were actually shown dead or having their bodies burned/buried. Should we have hope? hahaha the night is dark and full of terrors, but is it also full of surprises?? 😛
