My Year in Books and What is to Come in 2016

Hi all! So, starting tomorrow, this is going to be the first full year on this blog. I started my blog last year in mid to late February so I didn’t get to spend the whole year with you. Since that is going to change I’m going to give you a run down of my goals and challenges for the year ahead!

But first, let’s do a by of a run down of the last year.

FIRST: my reading goal for this past year was 80 books and I am so very happy to say I went above and beyond that! I ended up reading 98 books in total this year! Plus one that I started and will end up finishing in 2016!

SECOND: My average rating for books was probably around 4.5🌟 because I’m not overly critical when I read.

THIRD: I didn’t DNF any books this year because it’s not really my thing and I didn’t rate a book lower than 3🌟 all year!

All in all it was a pretty solid reading month for me!

I already started reading Illuminae so this will be my first official finished book of 2016!

SECOND: Some more books that made my list to read in January are below:

So pretty much my entire December book haul is on that list …. Minus The Heir because I still need to read the books ahead of it in the series.

I’m really looking forward to getting to all of these!! My next book up is going to be A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas followed by Throne of Glass and Harry Potter Illustrated Edition!!

It’s going to be a great start to 2016!

I am planning on participating in the pop sugar challenge this year. I don’t know if there’s an official way to get involved but I’m just planning on running with it on here.

Since my goal last year was 80 books and I went above and beyond it I’m setting my goal higher this year.

My reading goal for 2016 is to read 105 books by the end of the year.

It is officially in writing and let’s hope I can get there!

I would love to hear from you about your goals and challenges for 2016!

    1. I know! I’m so excited for 2016 to start it’s not even funny! And I’ll still have the rest of the ToG series to read, plus all the new releases this year (the sequels to ACOTAR, Red Queen, and An Ember in the Ashes! Plus Heartless by Marissa Meyer!) that it’s impossible to be a disappointing year for reading!

  1. I’ve signed up to a few yearly challenges over on Goodreads, one of them is the Popsugar Challenge, not sure if I’ll be able to fill all the categories but I’m definitely going to give it a good go! I’ve set my goal as 60 books which is 16 more than I got around to this year but I’d like to think I’ll be able to up that at some point as I have some really good books on my tbr! I’ve seen so many good things about Six of Crows – can’t wait to get around to that one!

    1. I’ll have to look for popsugar on goodreads! There’s definitely going to be some categories that are going to be tough to fill for me too but I’ve started making a list of books to fit the categories that I know I’ll be able to get to! Best of luck reading your 60 books!!

  2. Hi there! I am also participating in a 2016 Reading Challenge and would love to have you join me on my journey as well! If you would like, please check out my blog. I look forward to reading about what you are reading! Happy 2016 and best of luck on your challenge! -BJ
