Throwback Thursday: Favorites From 2015

It’s Thursday which means a throwback! I haven’t done this in a while and I feel like mixing it up a bit!

Here are some of my favorites from 2015!

Favorite 2015 Debut Novels:

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir and Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard were my two favorite debut novels from last year by a landslide! Both ranked in the top 10 books I read last year as well.

The sequel to Red Queen is out now! I haven’t gotten around to reading Glass Sword just yet but it’s going to be happening soon!

The sequel to An Ember in the Ashes canes out this August so keep an eye out for it!

Favorite 2015 Discoveries:

The Private series by James Patterson- loving it so far!

The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan- I only have the last book left and honestly don’t know why I haven’t read it yet!

Ruta Sepetys- the above book is from this year but I read her first two book, Between Shades of Gray and Out of the Easy, and was completely blown away by them!
The Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer was amazing!!

The Splintered series by AG Howard has Ben amazing as well! I still have to read the last one but I’m so excited to!

The I Hunt Killer series was phenomenal and so different from the young adult books out there. Such a cool series.
The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is the best series I’ve read in a while! If they weren’t so long I would have finished the series already!

The Asylum series by Madeleine Roux, I still need to read the last book but the first two were so cool!
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr was one of the best historical fiction books I’ve ever read. Absolutely phenomenal.

I’ll be talking about some of my favorite reads of this years I far coming up so if you’re interested keep an eye out!

What are some books/series from last year you discovered and loved? Favorite releases or debut novels from last year?

  1. I’m hoping to read Red Queen, Salt to the Sea, All The Bright Places and Winter soon! There’s so many on my TBR, especially since I gained so many books this month. Illuminae was one of my favourites of 2015 too surprisingly, since I don’t read SciFi that much. I read Outlander in January and became obsessed, and got the 2nd and 3rd books in the series yesterday. I can’t wait to eventually tackle those books…oh they’re huge but I know I’ll adore them!

I was surprised by home much I liked Illuminae too. I loved the format of it and thought the storytelling was very cool!
And Outlander is amazing!! I’m on the 5th book and am in love so far!

      1. That’s good to hear 😀 The formatting definitely won me over with Illuminae. I’d only read one other book formatted in a similar way and loved it, so I was so intrigued.
I feel like with the Outlander series, it’ll take me aaaaaaages to complete the entire series, but it’ll be a good thing? Like I’ll always have more to the story, until I EVENTUALLY get to the last book so far. But they’re so huge I have a while to wait yet haha!
