Library of Souls (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children #3) by Ransom Riggs; 458 pages
The ymbrynes have been taken. Peculiars are being rounded up. And Jacob just learned he can control Hallows.
With their friends in danger, Jacob and Emma must travel into the dangerous areas of peculiardom.
I did not enjoy this one as much as the first two. I thought the start of it was really rough, I didn’t remember exactly how the second book ended so it took about 10 pages for me to figure out what was happening. I thought the beginning was very disjointed and was not at all fluid.
It got better after a few chapters, the story got more consistent and there was the formulation of plans which I liked. And then the story got really good, there was the rescue mission I was waiting for, the big fight that would inevitably come with it, some cool revelations, and then the story was over …. Except it wasn’t. It carried on for another 30ish pages about what happened after and I thought it was rather unnecessary. It just drew out the book and made it longer versus giving it a satisfactory conclusion.
