New York City is under attack.
A bomb goes off in the subway tunnels. The mayor is assassinated. An electromagnetic pulse wipes out power in a whole section of the city.
Detective Michael Bennett is on the case and has the impossible task of hunting down the people responsible before the destroy all of New York City.
These books are always pretty out there in terms of plot. The case is always something wild that you can’t believe you’re actually reading about but I love it. Usually I like my detective novels to be something on the more believable side but there’s something about these books that make them so addicting even though the cases are so unbelievable.
For those of you who have never read one of myMichael Bennett reviews before let me introduce you to the character. Bennett is a detective with the NYPD and is a single dad with 10 adopted children. Honestly, it’s the character that makes these stories so great. Bennett is one of my favorites literary characters because he makes for such an interesting character. He’s always assigned high profile cases and usually works in conjunction with the FBI or some group of NYPD cops.
The stories are intense and keep you on the edge of your seat. This book was no exception, it was probably the best book in the series so far! I absolutely loved it!
