READERS BE WARNED.
HOLY SHIT THIS EPISODE EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS I COULD HAVE SET FOR IT.
I did not expect much from this episode after the amazingness of the previous episode so when it started with the trial of Loras Tyrell I kinda shrugged and thought “Well I didn’t expect much more that this.”
And then CERSEI WENT AND BLEW UP THE SEPT OF BAELOR! Like holy shit! And then to top it all off, Tommen goes and jumps out a window …. What a start to an episode. Totally did not see any of that coming.
And while I’m on the topic of Cersei, she totally did not seem broken up over the death of her last living child. No instead it’s ” All hail Queen Cersei, first of her name, ruler of the Andals and the Seven Kingdoms. Long may she reign.” Long may she reign my ass. Daenerys Stormborn, Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains, the true Queen of the Andals and the Seven Kingdoms is coming to kick your ass.
And speaking of Daenerys Targaryen, I thought the scene with Daario was totally unnecessary. But then it led to Dany naming Tyrion the Hand of the Queen and I squealed like a little girl! I was so happy so did that and I love the way their story is unfolding. And the end scene with them sailing off to Westeros…. Next season is going to be epic!!
And I love how many houses are backing her now. Targaryen. Dorne. Iron Islands. Highgarden. It’s gonna be epis.
And then there’s the whole scene with Walder Frey …. Ugh that was such a satisfying death to watch. But how the hell did Arya get all the way to the Twins already?! Her timeline must have been way different than everyone else’s until this episode. But I am so happy she got to kill Walder Frey! It felt so good to watch her slit his throat like they did to her mother.
KING IN THE NORTH. KING IN THE NORTH.
Ugh loved that scene so much. Lady Mormont is my new favorite character because she is so badass for being so young. She made a king in the halls of Winterfell and she’s like 8. What the hell! But it was so awesome!!
AND WE FINALLY GOT R+L=J!!!!!!! I have been waiting for the Tower of Joy scene the entire season! I hope they show us more of it later on!
Such a solid finale. I was not expecting it to be this amazing. This has me so excited for next season.
Overall, this was the best season of Game of Thrones yet. I thought it started slow but it made up for it at the end. So good.
Who watched it? What were your thoughts?
