DI Helen Grace is back and on yet another gruesome case. When Jack the Ripper-esque murders begin occurring, DI Grace must hurry to solve the case. This time around it looks like the prostitute is the one doing the killings, cutting open punters and removing their hearts. At the same time, DC Charlie Brooks is back and investigating the death of a prostitute found in the trunk of a car.
The first thing you must know about this book is that you SHOULD NOT read it if you haven’t read the first book in the series, Eeny Meeny, because the start of this book will spoil the ending.
This book was so insanely twisted. It’s not just the crime that’s messed up, it’s the fact that I actually felt sympathy for the killer at the end of the book. Don’t worry though, I won’t spoil anything.
I still don’t know how I feel about DI Helen Grace as a character. She’s always so cold and she has this desire to be constantly punished that is just too weird for me. All of that aside though, it was still a good book and I’m really excited to read book 3! I’m especially curious about how the next book plays out because a lot happens with the characters during this book. I’m wondering where they will stand with each other now that this case is over. I also can’t wait to see how twisted the next crime is …
