Elias and Laia are on the run from the Commandant. They have to get away from Serra. It is their mission to get to Kauf prison to free Laia’s brother. He could be the key the revolution is looking for.

My thoughts:

It’s been a while since I read the first book in this series but I remember disliking all the romance in it. Weirdly I was okay with all of it in this book. Maybe because the characters were in close proximity to each other … who really knows.

I really enjoyed this book though. It picked up right where the last one left off (but wasn’t confusing if you hadn’t read the last one in a while like me). It was incredibly fast paced and was filled with action. There was a ton of character development throughout the book which was fun to read about.

I thought this sequel out did book one in so many ways. I can’t wait to read book 3!
