The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon

The Song Rising (The Bone Season book 3) by Samantha Shannon; 347 pages

Warning: This review will contain spoilers from the last book! I don’t recommend reading this if you haven’t read the previous books!

Paige is the Under Queen of the syndicate. Scion is more determined than ever to bring an end to her and unnaturalness. Senshield scanners have been installed across London, forcing the syndicate underground. Now, to keep her people unified, Paige must find a wa to put an end to Senshield.

My thoughts:

So when I first started this book I thought we might have come to a dud in this series. Most long series have them, that one book that just isn’t quite as good as the others. I was convinced for more than half of the book this was the one ….

And then it got sooo good!

Seriously, the ending caused me to raise my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars. I did not expect Samantha Shannon to be able to wow me for a third time in a row! I thought the ending was just so brilliant. And I love Paige Mahoney. She is such an amazing character. Paige is such a well rounded character and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a female main character as well written as her. She is so badass yet so relatable. She’s smart as hell and she’s compassionate but not so much so that it hinders her up to this point.

I am continually amazed by this series and I cannot wait for book 4!!

Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
