The Crowns of Croswald by D.E. Night

The Crowns of Croswald by DE Night; 320 pages

I received from the author and her publishing team in exchange for an honest review!

Ivy grew up at Castle Plum amongst the magic dampening slurry fields. Forced to leave, Ivy is swept up in a world she always dreamed she belonged to. She is taken to the Halls of Ivy where she is going to learn to use her magic to become a scrivenist.

My thoughts:

I liked Ivy as a character right from the beginning. She was sweet and funny and her own person. She reminded me a bit of Luna, to be honest. Luna and Hermione. She’s incredibly smart, adventurous, but slightly spacey. But I love her sense of adventure and her curiosity and her determination.

I love anything involving magic so agreeing to review this book was a no brainer for me. And I’m glad I did. The magic was quite different than I expected but it was still totally unique. I’ve never come across anything like it.

I love the school of magic. I wish we could have read more about the classes and the ones we did get to read about we’re really cool. I especially liked the glenageries! I thought they were really different and really interesting.

I’m really looking forward to seeing where this series goes! This first book was action packed and fun filled!
