Summary:

After an accident, Amy’s mom decides the family is moving to Connecticut. Once the school year is over, Amy’s mom plans for her friends son to drive Amy and the family car across the country from California to Connecticut. The best discoveries always happened to the people who weren’t looking for them.

My thoughts:

This book was so cute. I really enjoyed reading it and I’m so glad I finally got to it.

This was my first Matson book and I was nervous to start it. I’ve heard a lot of good things about her books and I didn’t want to be disappointed. I definitely was not disappointed!

I loved that this book centered around a road trip. Going on a road trip is on my bucket list and this book was just so much fun. There were fun facts about the states they visited and I fell in love with the motto for the state of Kansas- ad astra per aspera- to the stars through adversity. I think it is absolutely beautiful.

I loved seeing all the growth in the characters too as the book went on. They grew so much as the story went on and it was a lot of fun to read. I thought Amy and Roger were great main characters.

I’m really looking forward to reading another one of her books in the future!

  1. I read this book a couple of months ago and I loved it. I’m so happy you enjoyed this one. The only book of hers I haven’t read is Second Chance Summer. I think I’m going to try to squeeze it in before summer is officially over.
