The Magician’s Nephew (Narnia Book 1) by C.S. Lewis; 221 pages
Polly and Diggory are looking for an adventure but get more than they bargained for when they run across Diggory’s uncle in his study. He tricks Polly into putting on a ring that transports her to another world. Diggory, with no other choice, must follow.
This was a cute story about the creation of Narnia and how it was discovered. It was a fast paced book and was perfect for reading right before bed, which is when I read most of it.
This is definitely more of a children’s book but I enjoyed it nonetheless. While young, the main characters were incredibly smart, if not a tad too curious.
I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I’ve only ever read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe before (that one is coming up next) and I really enjoyed it when I read it. I didn’t realize how long this series was though! Hopefully I end up enjoying the whole thing!
