No photo for this one unfortunately because it was a kindle read!
After the start of the Cataclysm, humans fled earth and took refuge in space. Now, hundreds of years later, humans will be returning to earth for the first time. The Council plans on sending 100 juvenile prisoners to earth to determine whether or not it is habitable. Either the 100 will get a fresh start on earth or they will die from exposure.
I always meant to read this series but I’m only getting to it now because I started watching the show. I got about halfway through season 2 of the snow before I got curious as to how it aligned with the books.
It’s been a little weird to read so far. All the characters back stories are different in the show. Not even just a little different. I kinda like the back stories in the show better. Although Clarke’s is way more interesting in the book. And there’s a character in the book that never even made it into the show. Probably a good thing because her story is pretty boring.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and I liked that the show was so different. I think I read it faster as a result. That being said, I like the show a lot better than the books so far. It’s one of the rare occasions where the book was a good idea but the show made it better. Just my opinion.
